Talking therapy in Leicester

Leicester Counselling and Psychotherapy

Does life feel like its getting on top of you?

Could you benefit from a place to take some time-out?

Counselling gives you the space to:

  • to explore your thoughts and feelings
  • to resolve negative patterns of thinking and behaviour

Most people, at some time in their lives, experience a period of difficulty and distress. Whether this is over the short- or long-term, counselling and psychotherapy (the talking therapies) can help you sort through your thoughts, feelings, and actions.

Therapy can offer a way of understanding both ourselves and each other

Such understanding can provide a tool for personal change. Whilst the support of families and friends is important, sometimes it is not enough. The problems may also be with our close relationships which can prevents us from talking about our problems openly with them. Talking to a third party who is trained to listen and respond can provide support through difficult times.

My name is Marilyn Wright, and I am a UKCP registered psychotherapist and counsellor. I am based in South Leicestershire, and within easy reach of Leicester, Hinckley, Nuneaton and Market Harborough

A few myths

Here are a few myths that prevent people from reaching out when they want to, and my responses to those myths:

Myth Response
I am concerned I will be considered crazy if I go for therapy You don’t have be crazy to be in therapy. Counselling and psychotherapy are often sought by ordinary people struggling with everyday problems
I’m concerned I will be criticised for my life choices Counselling and psychotherapy offers a safe, confidential and non-judgemental place to off-load and share your concerns. Counselling can help promote positive changes to how we deal with problems in life
Robinson Crusoe

Sometimes, when we think that life is entirely out of control, we are not sure how to make ourselves less depressed, less stressed, or more happier.

But don’t we all deserve to feel better and more at peace with ourselves?
